The work consists of an exploration of colour and colour naming, through a varied discourse with nature, seasons and the human condition. It is explored by using an interpretation of classical colour ranges, by using a linguistic theme. These themes continue through research of commercially produced household paints, by using the colour names and the colour itself.

This research piggybacked a previous research project, of allotments, plants and their colours, which then produced colour research regarding seasons. All of these projects have been influenced by Richter’s colour chance panels, as well as Ellsworth Kelly Jim Lambie and Jim Dine.
