East GalleryNUA is an exciting, city centre gallery space showcasing the best modern and contemporary art.
Exhibitions are originated by Norwich University of the Arts or the result of collaborations with national and international partners. The venue provides valuable experience for students studying MA Curation, as well as those studying other courses who can gain practice working as Gallery Assistants.
The East GalleryNUA venue and programme is funded by Norwich University of the Arts..
This exhibition documents a public project led by the artist Paul Digby between 2016 and 2019. During this period, Digby worked with individuals from the emergency services, including police and fire officers, paramedics and coastguards to create drawings and sculptures that attempt visual parallels with classical sculpture.

Revealing Munnings Appeal
East GalleryNUA exhibited drawings by one of Norwich University of the Arts’ most renowned alumni, Sir Alfred Munnings. The fourteen drawings were on public display for the first time, after being uncovered in the University archive. They demonstrate Munnings’ emerging expertise as a draughtsman and his aptitude for capturing human and animal form while he was a student at the Norwich School of Art, now NUA.
The drawings are in urgent need of conservation, so the University is launching a public appeal for help to raise the extra funds necessary to preserve these extraordinary works for future generations.
