Free Movement: How does audio-visual innovation and digital choreography lead to changes in contemporary collaborative performance art?
The research focuses on contemporary VJ practice and will consider the relationship between digital art and live performance. VJing has evolved from being seen as a music backdrop to becoming one of the most vibrant areas of contemporary digital art. Spanning extreme experimentation to large scale commercial practice, it can be seen in clubs, galleries, at festivals and events. The research will identify current issues and aesthetics and will examine the developments that changing technology has brought to contemporary practice.
