Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education: Arts, Design, Architecture and Media

The Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education: Arts, Design, Architecture and Media course is designed to promote the development of professional educational practice.

One of the key characteristics of the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education: Arts, Design, Architecture and Media (PGCertHE: ADAM) course at Norwich University of the Arts is the personal reflection and engagement with scholarly activity that informs individual practice, together with the reflection upon personal subject pedagogy.

This course aims to provide you with the ability to develop a wide range of skills and competences that will enable you to be an effective practitioner within Higher Education.

Who is the course for?

The course is for student facing staff in HE capacity, preferably teaching or supporting students in one of the following subject areas: Art, Design, Architecture or Media

What is the duration of this course?

The course is work-based and flexible, drawing on participants’ experience as learners, teachers and professionals both within and outside the University. The course contextualises this professional practice within an approved and accredited reflective pedagogic framework.

The PGCertHE: ADAM is available in Part-Time Study mode only, and this reflects the nature and commitments of its learners as existing or aspiring professionals who are employed or seeking employment within the UK Higher Education sector or those teaching higher education in further education institutions. It is a recognised qualification, and as such offers a level of transferability and indicator of teaching quality to both students and employers.

After you graduate

In addition to the named award, successful completion of the PGCertHE: ADAM offers participants to meet the requirements leading to Associate Fellow and Associate Fellow and Fellowship of the HEA as described in the UK Professional Standards Framework.
