Students sought to repeat East Anglian success in business start up competition

A national competition is seeking to help students and recent graduates to launch their own creative businesses in the East of England, with a £10,000 prize on offer to the winners. The Deutsche Bank Award for Creative Enterprise 2016 will hold a free workshop for students and recent graduates interested in entering at the Ideas Factory, a new business incubation centre at Norwich University of the Arts, on Wednesday 9 December.

The workshop will provide an overview of what needs to be considered when writing a business plan, addressing key questions about audience, length and style as well as focusing on how to make it informative yet innovative. Led by specialist trainer Max Comfort, the workshop will balance creativity with practical advice on USPs, marketing, promotion, budgets and financial management.

Students and graduates from across the region are invited to attend, to join over 40 confirmed attendees from NUA, University Campus Suffolk, University of the Arts London and Goldsmiths. Earlier this year Norwich students Jillian Fosten and Eleanor Wright were named among the winners of the 2015 awards with a further five students from the region among the runners up. Jillian Fosten will also attend the workshop to share her experience of taking part in the award.
