NUA named top specialist university for arts and design

Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) has been ranked as the top specialist university in the country for arts and design subjects by The Complete University Guide. The Guide released its University League Tables today, which revealed that NUA achieved the highest placing in the subject table for Art & Design of any specialist university in the UK.

The Complete University Guide is an independent publisher of UK university league tables and rankings, working closely with universities and with the Universities and Colleges Admissions Service (UCAS). As well as an overall Universities League table which exclude specialist institutions such as NUA, the Guide provides a series of subject league tables which measure universities in four key aspects: student satisfaction, quality of research, UCAS tariff point average of student intake and graduate employability.

NUA’s score ranked the University above such other specialist institutions as University of the Arts, London and University for the Creative Arts. The University was one of the first specialist arts and design institutions in the country, founded in 1845, and has continued to remain at the forefront of the creative sector of higher education with many of its design and media courses recently gaining Creative Skillset recognition for their relevance to industry.

Professor John Last, Vice Chancellor of NUA, says: “Our mission is to be the best specialist university for arts, design and media study in Europe. Accolades such as the ranking by The Complete University Guide provide a valuable indication that NUA is building successfully toward this goal and are a powerful endorsement of the efforts of our staff and student community.”
