Norwich University of the Arts (NUA) has been voted by its students as the best specialist arts, design and media university in the UK for the third year running. The National Student Survey, published today by the Higher Education Funding Council for England (HEFCE), found that NUA students rate their overall satisfaction as higher than all other specialist creative higher education institutions, including Glasgow School of Art, University of the Arts London and the University for the Creative Arts.
NUA ranked highest of its contemporaries in 2013, 2014 and 2015, retaining top spot this year with 90%+ satisfaction scores for its Graphic Design and Photography courses and an incredible 100% score for its Games Art and Design course. Overall satisfaction was 87.
Professor John Last, NUA Vice-Chancellor, says: “In our 170th anniversary year we are delighted to maintain our University’s position as the best specialist arts, design, architecture and media university in the country. We have a strong, collective community of creative at NUA and this shows through in the continued high esteem in which we are held by our students. The University is preparing to launch some exciting new developments this year including new studios and workshops for architecture and film students, a new public-facing gallery, city centre student accommodation and a business incubation hub and digital user experience research lab, plus the launch of BA (Hons) Degree courses in Fashion Communication & Promotion and VFX, which will all add to the highly rated student experience at NUA.”
NUA scored higher than the national average for overall satisfaction (86%) this year. The NSS, which was conducted by Ipsos MORI, surveyed students from 155 higher education institutions.
Professor Madeleine Atkins, Chief Executive of HEFCE, says: “The survey provides detailed and robust data which is…valuable in supporting prospective students and their parents and advisors in helping choose which higher education institution to select.”
