To celebrate its 25th Anniversary, the Wallpaper History Society is showcasing award winning wallpaper designs by Norwich University of the Arts and Leeds College of the Arts students in response to a Wallpaper Design Competition based on the Theme: Past, Present and Future.
NUA Textile graduate Lauren Mellor was awarded overall winner and her work, alongside work by graduates Emily Charman, Alex Evans, Rachel Parker, Katie Crouch, Kirst Newman, Chloe Smith and Anna Burbridge, will be exhibited in the Imago Gallery, London from Friday 9th September to Wednesday 19th September.
All student entries were judged by a panel including the Design Director for Sanderson and a Senior Lecturer in Surface Design from the University of the Arts London. Those shortlisted students were then invited to tour Anstey Wallpaper Manufacturers in Loughborough and give a short presentation of their work.
This is the third year that the Design Competition has taken place and this year alongside the student exhibition, there will be designs by guest members of the Society portraying wall-coverings from the past and contemporary practice of wallpaper design.
