Norwich fashion student Victoria Miller has been selected from hundreds of graduates nationwide to exhibit her work in the Graduate Fashion Week Awards Gala Show, which takes place at the Truman Brewery in London on Tuesday 2 June. Victoria, who is in her final year of study on the BA (Hons) Fashion course at Norwich University of the Arts (NUA), will receive a trophy, a cash prize and her designs featured in press coverage including ID Magazine, The Times, The Independent, Drapers and Look Magazine promoting her work to an international audience.

The Gala show, presented by TV and fashion icon Laura Whitmore, brings together the best designers from across the four day event in London. Those shortlisted were selected by a panel of judges including fashion journalist Hilary Alexander, George Brand Director Fiona Lambert and selected course leaders from the best Fashion courses in the UK – including NUA Course Leader Sue Chowles.
NUA had further success at Graduate Fashion Week being awarded runner up in the prize for best exhibition stand at the event. NUA’s exhibition stand included mannequins dressed with students’ garments, a video of the NUA catwalk show and a portfolio area where industry guests could view the students’ concept work.
Graduate Fashion Week is the world’s leading event celebrating the creativity of students and graduates within fashion, featuring 22 catwalk shows from over 40 universities and attracting in excess of 30,000 guests.
Fashion lovers in Norwich will have a chance to see the students’ work in July when they take part in the NUA Degree Shows (1–7 July). For more information on this event please visit www.nua.ac.uk/degreeshows.
Staff and students featured in NUA press releases are available for further comment.
Our academic staff are leading practitioners and researchers in the fields of the arts, design and media. They are available to provide expert comment on regional, national and international news stories related to higher education and the creative arts.
All camera crews and photographers need advance permission to operate on the NUA campus. Alternatively the University has a wealth of photography and footage which can be provided on request.
Members of the press are welcome to attend all events at NUA. Most exhibitions on the campus, including the Degree Shows, will have a private view event in advance of the public opening for the press and special guests. Details of these events are available on request.
We are delighted to arrange campus tours and on-campus interviews with staff and students.
