Norwich got engaged with Art, Design and Media this Easter with NUA Live at the Forum, a ten day exhibition showing our community what goes on behind the scenes at England’s top specialist institution in the sector.

Thousands of visitors got the chance to make their own artwork as well as see a whole range of art, design and media work from NUA’s undergraduate and postgraduate courses.
Highlights included the awards ceremony for the 2012 Schools ArtMAD Competition, where former Norwich City footballer Darren Huckerby presented Ben Hawkyard, a Year 11 pupil from the Hewett School with a £500 cash prize and an additional £500 for his school art department for taking first place with his winning animation.

A live Illustration auction rounded off the exhibition with visitors to the Forum bidding to own an original piece of work by both upcoming and established artists. Over £2000 was raised, which will be used by students to publish this summer’s BA Illustration Degree Show catalogue.

Staff and students featured in NUA press releases are available for further comment.
Our academic staff are leading practitioners and researchers in the fields of the arts, design and media. They are available to provide expert comment on regional, national and international news stories related to higher education and the creative arts.
All camera crews and photographers need advance permission to operate on the NUA campus. Alternatively the University has a wealth of photography and footage which can be provided on request.
Members of the press are welcome to attend all events at NUA. Most exhibitions on the campus, including the Degree Shows, will have a private view event in advance of the public opening for the press and special guests. Details of these events are available on request.
We are delighted to arrange campus tours and on-campus interviews with staff and students.
