A student at Norwich University of the Arts has been awarded a £500 prize by the Norfolk Contemporary Art Society (NCAS). Henry Driver, who is graduating with a BA (Hons) Fine Art degree, was named as the winner of the NCAS prize from a shortlist of five other students selected from the NUA Fine Art Degree Show.

Henry says: “I will put the prize money towards a 4K DSLR camera which I will use for video and photographic imaging. It will enable me to capture a greater quality of texture and resolution that will increase the realism and detail within the imagery, which can then layer up into an abstract myriad as can bee seen in the NUA Degree Show.

Last year Henry exhibited work at the Tate Britain and Tate Liverpool and was shortlisted for The Space Open Call. He has also been selected for the Wysing Leverhulme Art Scholars Summer School residency at Wysing Arts Centre. His NCAS prize winning work, titled A Tender Vision, combines digital projection and sound with a wall mounted installation, The piece explores how we define the difference between virtual and reality.
