The Vice-Chancellor Professor John Last said: “We were delighted to welcome Ed Miliband to the Norwich University of the Arts campus today, where he saw facilities for our Fashion, Animation and Games Art and Design courses and met staff and students in our newly opened Monastery Media Lab.

“Mr Miliband’s tour allowed us to demonstrate our continued commitment to providing industry-standard facilities, which ensures our students are able to secure employment when they graduate. There is no doubt that the creative industries are a national driver for economic growth and one of the UK’s most successful exports. NUA’s investment in high quality technical resources is essential in the provision of vocational education at degree level, deserving the ongoing continued financial support that will be given to STEM subjects that have similar high technology infrastucture requirements.

“Here at NUA our course offer is innovative, exciting and directly relevant to the skills needed in the creative economy. We have oversubscribed courses, high levels of student satisfaction and an excellent record of students securing jobs – with 90% in employment within 6 months of graduating. Our strong links with the creative industries in London see a great many of these graduates move to the capital to develop their careers. However, we would like to see more support for growth in these industries within the region.”
