MA Games

As a Technical Animator, I wanted to utilise my knowledge of animation and programming to provide easily interpretable and enjoyable mechanics to a project. I worked in collaboration to develop a character movement system with a focus on quadrupedal movement around an environment. My research concentrates on developing a user experience that blends interaction with the game world as an animal and a human.

We intended to create a cohesive and believable world for players to explore and one of the vital aspects of this was ensuring that the game’s mechanics are accessible to all users. Working in a team allowed me to apply my research to create a more visual experience, developing the concept of a predominantly technical project and enhancing value.

By developing a character movement system alongside the animations, I studied the structure of player characters within game development in order to further explore the concept of making animation a more integral aspect. This increases accessibility and ensures that the mechanics of the world are both adaptable and enjoyable.
