Georgia Cooke, Lucy Keet and Zoe Nunn, BA (Hons) Textile undergraduate students have created contemporary works of art for a local recruitment consultant. Perfect Placement UK Ltd are specialists in the automotive sector and wanted original works which reflected their business, their values and commitment to their team. The students responded to this challenge and produced stunning artwork that reflects Perfect Placement UK Ltd’s brand identity.
Lucy and Zoe, both 3rd year students, created a contemporary design of acrylic cogs which cover an entire wall. The cogs were precision cut using a laser cutter, the largest cog being 80cm in diameter.
Georgia, a 2nd year student, worked tirelessly over months to produce two 6m hand woven and screen printed silk weaves – the largest weaves to have been made at the University. During the creative process she hand dyed the silk in the company’s corporate colours.
“The first occasion we met, Georgia listened carefully to what we wanted. She then presented her idea at the initial meeting introducing our directors to a small piece of silk she had woven herself in our corporate colours. We were immediately impressed with her warmth in engaging with us, her confidence and assurance that this work could be scaled up to our requirements.”
