Nurturing Bright Futures Teacher Conference

NUA are pleased to be collaborating with UEA on their teacher and adviser conference: Nurturing Bright Futures.
This is a CPD certified free residential event designed specifically for education professional who work with sixth form students as they progress into higher education. The conference provides the latest information from HE experts, researchers and practitioners and provides the opportunity to network with colleagues from across the UK.
Thursday 6 June
Following a morning of talks at UEA from the Faculty of Science, attendees are invited to visit NUA in the afternoon to take part in practical breakout sessions exploring creative thinking and making, including a look at graduate destinations and creative employability.
No previous creative experience is required!
There will also be a panel discussion with artist educator Susan Coles and a tour of NUA’s award-winning buildings – followed by the ever-popular open top bus tour of Norwich.
Friday 7 June
Talks will continue at UEA with highlights including a presentation from Harriet Jones, Director of UEA’s pre-University Skills Programme, on managing and preparing for the transition from school or college to university in a time of huge changes both to post-16 education and teaching practices in higher education.
Visitors will also hear from academics in UEA’s School of Psychology and have the chance to attend breakout sessions around medicine, degree choices, the progression to Higher Education for underrepresented groups, studying abroad and further sessions delivered by Norwich University of the Arts.
The programme also includes a networking dinner at the Modern Life Café in the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts on the UEA campus on 6 June. Accommodation is also available at UEA for this night free of charge.
