Sculpture Matters – Christmas CPD workshop

Sculpture Matters – Christmas CPD workshop

Wednesday 16 December 2020 | 6.00 - 7.30pm

Seasonal Sculpture Matters Workshop

This workshop is intended to be an opportunity to make sculpture in a relaxing setting, to focus on the properties of material through touch and handling matter.

Participants will be focusing on the most sculptural property of all: touch, as they form a sculpture through a process of modelling. Through this process, participants will engage with their imagination and how they ‘read’ a sculptural object through haptic manipulation and observation. They will then respond to this object by recording its tactile properties (form, texture etc) through drawing.

The twist to this activity, is that participants will be required to work in total darkness.

Unlike orthodox observational drawing, participants will ‘observe’ by touch and record what they feel rather than by what they see.
