“Our workshops give you more confidence, insights and understanding of materials, colour theory and market audience – it’s prepared me for what to expect in industry.”

Ches Young
Textile Design student

Having supportive tutors on the course has enabled me to push my practice further and I’ve become much more confident with my drawing and Photoshop skills.

Michael Bartley
Textile Design graduate

The course doesn’t pin you down to one specialism, I can experiment in knit, weave, print and digital outcomes. I love the freedom I have to explore my practice.

Lillie Turner
Textile Design graduate

Lectures from visiting textile practitioners such as Margo Selby and Ptolemy Mann have been incredibly inspiring. They have allowed me to question and re-evaluate my own practice; how I can continue to improve and push the boundaries within the field of woven textiles.

Louise Weeden
Textile Design graduate

We are given the chance to work with a lot of specialist equipment, such as the laser cutter, and our project briefs are focused toward contemporary textiles practice and industry, which encourages us to keep up to date with what is happening in the wider textiles world.

Adam Robertson
Textile Design graduate

There is a lot of freedom of choice in the course. Our lecturers encourage and help us to explore and find our own ways to develop our work. In this the technicians are a big help – they are very knowledgeable and interested in the work of the students.
