Based in the East Garth the full blackout studios are equipped for a range of practices from tabletop still life to full-length model photography.

You will also have access to the Media Lab daylight studio space. A team of specialist technicians provide comprehensive support in using the course’s state-of- the-art digital darkroom with Aperture, Capture One and Adobe Creative Suite software, data projector, scanners and inkjet printer. The Media Resource Centre provides professional DSLRs, lenses, tripods, lighting and AV equipment, portable studio flash kits and other specialist items for studio and location shoots.

East Garth Photography Building

The East Garth Photography building serves the Photography degree course with a state-of-the-art digital darkroom and extensive studio facilities for still life, fashion and portraiture photography. The building itself is one of the city of Norwich’s most valuable pieces of heritage, a former medieval Friary considered as one of the best surviving and most complete examples of its kind in the country.

Digital Darkroom

24 Apple iMac workstations. Software includes Aperture, Capture One and Adobe Creative Suite, data projection is installed for reviewing and critiquing work, high quality flat bed transparency/ reflective scanners are installed, as well as a photographic quality inkjet printer.

Photography studio

Equipped with a range of professional studio equipment from tabletop still life work to full-length model photography. The studio includes a full blackout studio with flexible options for configuring the layout to suit the varied requirement of individual and taught study. Professional DSLR camera kits with specialist lenses; medium format digital camera kits and a full range of professional studio lighting, camera supports and accessories are provided for use in the studio.
