Over 500 postgraduate and undergraduate students celebrated at this year’s graduation ceremony held on Tuesday 2 July 2013 at St Andrew’s Hall in Norwich.
Congratulating them on their achievements was new NUA Chancellor, actor John Hurt CBE, who enjoyed meeting the students and told the congregation: “Our county is world famous for our creativity and I offer NUA graduates my encouragement and to remember that the most important thing is the creativity and the art and not the salary. But – of course – both are ideal!”
Honorary Doctorates were also awarded on the day to Anne Tyrell MBE, NUA alumna and founder of Anne Tyrell Design, pioneering photographer Tim Flach and renowned walking artist Hamish Fulton for their contribution to the fields of art, design and media.
If you are considering furthering your career or continuing your studies with a postgraduate qualification, it is not too late to apply to NUA for MA programmes commencing in October 2013.
All former students of the University also receive a £500 bursary off taught MA course tuition fees, regardless of when you last studied here.

For What It’s Worth is a unique opportunity to see work by Damien Hirst, Grayson Perry, Rachel Whiteread, Jeremy Deller and many other acclaimed artists in The Gallery at NUA. The work has been selected from the Arts Council Collection by MA Curation students for their graduating exhibition. The show explores how artworks, developed in Britain since the late 1970s, represent and challenge the idea and meaning of value, moving towards varied and sometimes surprising interpretations beyond those of mere financial worth.
