The focus for much of my research relates to painting practice. This research is conducted using a variety of methods and media including painting, sound and video. I have held group and solo exhibitions and performances at venues in the UK and overseas including MAC, Birmingham; Lanchester gallery, Coventry; H-Project Space, Bangkok; the London Short Film Festival and The Public, West Bromwich and for some years was represented by Francis Kyle Gallery in central London.

My paper ‘Pictorial Slippage’ which was published in ‘The International Journal of Arts Theory and History’ considered the temporal dislocations associated with the painted image, particularly during an image’s fabrication. This paper considered some of my earlier work, in which I would use found images that had been selected from an array of disparate locations to develop paintings with an unhinged sense of time. More recent paintings have dispensed with source imagery with the aim of ‘finding’ the painting through working processes and considering the gap between the ‘known’ and the ‘unknown’, and the ownership of the unknown, in the production of artwork.
