Technician Textiles (Part-time)
We are looking for an individual to join our successful technical support staff team in the Textiles workshop. The successful applicant will deliver technical support and advice for the Textiles workshop and associated resources to a range of stakeholders including students in Textiles and Fashion.
The Textile workshops provide specialist resources for design, print and constructed textiles production. The range of processes available includes weaving, machine knitting, digital embroidery, dyeing, screen print (with repeat), devoré and resist printing.
The successful candidate will be a skilled Technician with proven professional experience of professional working practices relating to weave, machine knit, fabrics, dyes, screen and digital printing and finishing gained from either a Higher Education or a commercial environment
Experience of planning, preparing and delivering technical inductions and technical instruction classes to students will be an advantage to meet important elements of the role.
The post holder will join a team operating busy workshop environments, taking responsibility for the operation and routine maintenance of professional equipment for textiles.
