Technician: Media Resource Centre
We are seeking to appoint a Technician who will support the delivery of an inclusive learning environment from our Media Resource Centre.
You will operate our busy equipment loan store and be part of the team responsible for issuing professional photographic, video, audio-visual and related equipment to students and staff to support individual projects and group productions. You will track items and monitor equipment loans using our online booking system, deliver inductions, advice and guidance for basic operation and safe use safe of equipment and contribute to the development of online learning material to support these activities.
The successful candidate will be a skilled, committed, and technically minded individual with proven experience, knowledge and competency of operating photographic, video and audio equipment. They will be able to identify appropriate equipment for student needs and be able to monitor and track loans using our online booking system.
This student facing role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively deliver and over the counter loan service and communicate technical processes to students.
Candidates will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or have equivalent experience in a similar role and demonstrate an active interest and awareness of industry trends, products and developments affecting workshop resources. Previous experience of providing technical support to groups and individuals and operating a resource booking system will be an advantage to meet important elements of the post.
18.5 hours per week, Monday and Tuesday 8.45 am to 5.00 pm and Wednesday 9.00 am to 1:00 pm
