Technician: Media (Digital 3D)

Extending our commitment to a high-quality student experience, we are recruiting a new member to our established technical support team for media. NUA’s specialist resources support Architecture and Digital 3D media creation within the context of a restored and RIBA award-winning, listed building.

The technical resources include an architectural model making room, networked computer workshops, a digital film studio, large format scanning, large format inkjet printing, laser printing, laser cutting, 3D printing and a digital user experience lab.

The successful candidate will be a skilled Technician with proven professional experience in their specialist creative discipline from working in either a Higher Education or a commercial environment. The successful appointee, alongside expert-level practical skills, will demonstrate expertise in working with a range of professional hardware and software related to CAD, 2D and 3D digital creation and production.

The post holder will demonstrate high levels of skill in digital fabrication, capture, processing, content management and outputting to relevant professional digital and physical formats.

Experience of planning, preparing and delivering technical inductions to students or others will be an advantage to meet the requirements of the role. The post holder will join a team operating in busy workshop environments, sharing responsibility for the associated Health and Safety regulations, manual handling procedures and COSHH regulations.

Salary: £16,371 to £18,962 per annum
