IT Application Support Analyst and SQL Server DBA Trainee

We are looking for an experienced IT Application Support Analyst to support our core Business Systems and to undertake appropriate training to obtain certification as a SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA).

This interesting and important role combines responsibility for maintaining the University’s vital day-to-day business applications such as Finance, HR and Student Information, and providing first-class support for the users of these systems. Alongside this having the an opportunity to train and gain MCSA certification as a SQL Server DBA with responsibility for database security, backups, high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) planning.

Candidates must have good solid IT skills with at least two years’ experience (ideally at 2nd Line level) of supporting business applications, including User support, trouble-shooting, problem resolution, and system upgrades, in a Windows Server environment. In addition to this a desire to progress into a more technical IT role and further their knowledge and experience.

Salary: £27,830 to £32,236 per annum
