Senior Lecturer/Lecturer – Games Art and Design
With the continued popularity of the TIGA and ScreenSkills accredited BA (Hons) Games Art & Design course we have need for additional high-calibre professionals to join our team. We are eager to expand our pool of industry-experienced staff who could deliver Asset Production techniques (3D environments, props, etc.) to a diverse range of students.
The successful applicants will be able to evidence high-level knowledge, skill and expertise in creating assets using a physically-based rendering pipeline, and ideally hold a working knowledge of Unreal Engine.
Essential skills include:
Modelling and UV mapping (Maya)
Digital Sculpting (Zbrush)
Texture creation (Substance Suite / Quixel)
Normal map baking (Substance suite, Marmoset Toolbag)
Desirable skills include:
Experience of modular workflows and trim-sheets
Experience using AAA game engines (Unreal Engine / Unity)
Real-time character creation
Knowledge of Blender is desirable
Candidates will be able to deliver and develop innovative learning and teaching strategies including digital materials and hybrid learning to promote an inclusive learning environment. The post involves preparation and delivery of workshops, demonstrations, briefings, critiques, tutorials and assessment. You will have the ambition to equip students with the social and cultural capital that will allow them to confidently grasp graduate-level opportunities and challenges.
