Senior Lecturer/Lecturer – 2D Animation
BA (Hons) Animation has a long-established history at NUA and covers the broad range of current animation practice. Due to the success and demand for the course we now wish to appoint high calibre experienced professionals to our academic team to teach 2D animation.
You will have the ability to support students in a range of creative digital contexts, with demonstrable skill in 2D character animation (frame-by-frame and 2D puppetry using Toon Boom, Adobe Animate, or similar), 2D motion graphics (After Effects), character design and storyboarding (Photoshop). Ability to deliver observational and life drawing classes would also be desirable. You will also be enthusiastic about the potential for cross course collaboration.
Candidates will be able to deliver and develop innovative learning and teaching strategies including digital materials and hybrid learning to promote an inclusive learning environment. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the ability to provide academic and pastoral support to a diverse range of students studying on a project led curriculum. The post involves preparation and delivery of workshops, demonstrations, briefings, critiques, tutorials and assessment. You will have the ambition to equip students with the social and cultural capital that will allow them to confidently grasp graduate-level opportunities and challenges.
