Part-time Hourly Lecturer – MA Fine Art
We are looking for an enthusiastic and engaging lecturer with a professional practice in painting, drawing and/or printmaking to contribute to teaching on our MA programmes.
Our Postgraduate Programmes focus on collaborative and experimental practice, and we encourage our students to develop an individual approach to exploring new knowledge, ideas or issue-based content. We aim to equip students to become visual communicators and creative thought leaders who tackle global issues around diversity and sustainability head-on.
This role involves preparation and delivery of workshops, seminars, tutorials, lectures, as well as attendance monitoring, assessment of student work and participation in meetings. Taught sessions will be a mix of digital and on-campus delivery. You will be very much part of the team and contribute to the academic and pastoral support for our diverse body of students.
We are looking for a lecturer with strong professional experience and contemporary understanding of international arts practice. A broad knowledge of research methods and research-informed arts practice is essential, as is an understanding of supervising independent practice-led projects. You will be able to demonstrate competence in preparing and delivering taught sessions and have experience of the teaching and learning requirements within a Higher Education environment, ideally, at postgraduate level.
Please note that teaching sessions are usually scheduled in 2.5 hour blocks, usually from 10.00 – 12.30 and 14.00 – 16.30. Due to the nature of the MA programme; scheduled teaching for this post may be irregular and will usually be a maximum of two and a half and five hours per week. The MA programmes run through the calendar year and taught sessions for this role may be scheduled from October to August, usually on Thursdays.
