Part-time Hourly Lecturer – Architecture
We are seeking to appoint a part time hourly lecturer to join our team of architectural educators in support our undergraduate students as they explore creative and technical/environmental design; we are specifically looking for lecturers/tutors in the areas of design studio and technical studies (construction detailing/environmental studies).
Our BA (Hons) Architecture and new M Arch programme sit within the Faculty of Design and Architecture at Norwich University of the Arts and benefit from being situated within a vibrant specialist arts community.
Our students are supported to develop skills in design thinking, creative practical design, communication skills and technical studies through a series of design challenges and the successful candidate will deliver design studio, or technical/environmental studio tutoring through individual and group tutorials, project reviews, teaching workshops and field visits. The role includes preparing and delivering a mix of digital and on-campus taught sessions. You will work with the Course Leader to organise and deliver an engaging and innovative curriculum that values and promotes sustainable and ethical practices.
Candidates must possess at the minimum a professional level architectural qualification, equivalent to M Arch RIBA/ARB Part II. Candidates are expected to have familiarity with architectural education in the UK. Prior experience of teaching undergraduate architecture students is highly desirable as are skills in digital architectural visualisation and modelling.
The post will require teaching in person either on Mondays (in-person) and Thursdays (digital); or Tuesdays (in person) and Fridays (digital), weekly, in set block times. In-person teaching blocks are 10 am – 12:30 pm, and 2:00 pm – 4:30 pm; digital teaching blocks are 10 am – 12:30 pm. Digital teaching is conducted via MS Teams, and in-person teaching is at the studios in Boardman House, NUA.
