Part-time Hourly Lecturer: Architecture
This role involves organising and delivering design studio sessions including tutorials, crits and workshops for final year undergraduate students researching and developing their final projects. At NUA the third-year design studio project looks closely at the social interactions involved in the construction of the urban environment, focusing on one major city and supporting students to initially consider a large site as a group and then propose an individual project within it.
As a Year 3 design tutor you will have skills in planning and urban design and be able to demonstrate considerable professional experience of delivering comprehensive design projects. You will help to support students in proposing viable technical solutions as they work towards the detailed resolution of their design projects. The successful candidate will be an experienced and creative teacher who can engage students through their enthusiastic approach to the teaching of architecture. You will have a rigorous approach to assessment and be able to demonstrate strong organisational skills. The role may involve exhibition and site visit organisation.
A strong background in architectural design is essential, together with teaching experience on an ARB Part 1 or Part 2 accredited Architecture Degree course. We anticipate the successful candidate holding ARB Part 3 qualification and have experience working in architectural practice.
