Part-time Hourly Lecturer Acting

We are currently recruiting for a Part-time Hourly Lecturer to provide assistance in the delivery of our new innovative award, BA (Hons) Acting, aimed at preparing students for screen and other recorded media industries.

You will be expected to work as part of a team, and have previous Higher Education teaching and professional experience.

You will be able to deliver sessions in a combination of the following areas:

  • Acting training including voice and movement
  • Professional development and industry engagement
  • Practical experience working with actors for camera and/or voice overs
  • Technical expertise (film editing/directing, recording studio)

You will have the ability to deliver the required skills to a diverse range of undergraduate students in an inclusive, creative, and engaging way, through project based learning.  Candidates will be able to deliver and develop innovative learning and teaching strategies including digital materials and hybrid learning.

The post involves preparation for and delivery of tutorials, workshops, demonstrations, lectures, critiques, assessments and seminars.  The successful candidate will ideally have a background in acting for film and/or television, and be excited about the possibilities of delivering an acting degree in a specialist arts institution with the opportunities of collaborating with a number of different media courses.

Please note that teaching sessions are usually scheduled in 2.5 hour or 3 hour blocks from 09.30 onwards. Timetabled sessions for this role may include one or two blocks per day.

Salary: £38.82 per teaching hour - £18.00 per assessment hour
