Lecturer: Visual Effects (VFX)
Visual Effects at NUA was successfully established with the support of Industry partners from the major UK visual effects companies including The Mill, Framestore, MPC, as well as key advisors like the UK Screen Alliance and Screen Skills. Some of the best visual effects companies in the world, from ILM to MPC and DNEG have provided masterclasses, delivering specialist workshops to our students.
We now wish to add further high calibre experienced academics/professionals to our team of Lecturers. We are particularly eager to expand our pool of industry experienced academic staff who could deliver visual effects teaching across the three years of the course, from introductory fundamentals to more advanced industry practice. The course is primarily aimed at creating photo-real outputs for the film and television industry. Therefore the ideal candidate will have a good working knowledge and understanding of the importance of lenses, pixels and light. Ideally you will be experience in one or more of the following; Nuke compositing, Maya or Houdini. Experience of working in 360 filming or XR applications would be additionally valuable.
The posts involve preparation for and delivery of tutorials, workshops, demonstrations, lectures, critiques, assessments and seminars. A commitment to preparing students for employment and an aptitude for innovative learning and teaching activities are essential. Year tutor responsibilities are associated with this Lecturer post.
