Lecturer: Textile Design

We are seeking to appoint a lecturer with expertise in material exploration and ecological design solutions to teach across our BA and MA courses in Fashion and Textile Design and help to shape our approach to innovative and technologically advanced design and construction.

The successful candidate will have experience of research and exploration in innovative textile design and a proactive approach to engaging collaborators and industry supporters. We anticipate you will be able to demonstrate expertise in at least one of the following areas: innovative materials; sustainability and / or digital design and manufacture. Ideally, you will hold a relevant research degree or have experience of working in industry innovation. You will be able to demonstrate your skills as an engaging and supportive teacher who can clearly plan, organise and communicate with students and the course team.

Under the line management of the Course Leader, Fashion and Textile Design, and working closely with the Course Leader, Taught Post-Graduate Awards, you will help to drive our distinctive and contemporary curricula which focuses on collaboration and co-delivery. The role involves planning and delivering workshops, lectures, seminars and tutorials and assessment at both BA and MA level, predominantly on the Textile Design courses. Liaising with the technical teams and working closely with a number of different academic teams will be a key part of the role.


Salary: £33,797 to £40,322 per annum
