Lecturer: Illustration

We are seeking to appoint a full-time lecturer to join our BA (Hons) Illustration team. The course has a strong national reputation for competition success and nurturing talented graduates and is situated in the Faculty of Design and Architecture.

As a practitioner in your field you will be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of contemporary illustration practice and an ability to use your professional profile to inform your teaching. You will have a proactive approach to engaging collaborators and an informed approach to helping students develop strategies for shaping their future careers. You will be able to demonstrate your skills as an engaging and supportive teacher and be able to articulate a clear approach to encouraging innovation and experimentation through established and emerging design methodologies. Being able to demonstrate strong organisational and time-management skills is essential.

The role involves a high level of team working and you will be an active member of an established team of academic staff involved in supporting the development and delivery of the curriculum. Liaising with the professional services teams and working closely with a number of stakeholders across the university will be a key part of the role. Duties include planning and delivering workshops, lectures, seminars and tutorials and assessment of student work. Recruitment and outreach activities are also required within the role.

Salary: £33,797 to £40,322 per annum
