Lecturer – Architecture

0.6 FTE (12 months fixed-term / maternity cover)

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Architecture who will organise and deliver the design, technology and representation curriculum through workshops, lectures, tutorials and seminars to an appropriate level for our ARB Part 1 accredited BA (Hons) Architecture course.

You will act as first year co-ordinator, providing pastoral and academic guidance to students as necessary and you may be required to organise site visits and exhibitions. You will work with the Course Leader to ensure the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning.

Ideally, you will be trained as an architect and have experience of working in architectural practice. The successful candidate will be an experienced and creative teacher who can engage students through their enthusiastic engagement with the subject. Experience of teaching first year students at BA (Hons) level is desirable and an understanding of the challenges faced by students embarking on a degree in Architecture is essential.  

The post holder will be able to demonstrate strong organisational and team working skills together with a proactive approach to supporting students and maintaining an excellent student experience.

This role is 0.6 FTE on a maternity cover basis which is anticipated to be for a 12 month period

Salary: £19,919 to £23,765 per annum
