Evening/Saturday Technician – Architecture and Interior Design
The University is seeking to appoint a Technician to support the delivery of an inclusive learning environment for our Architecture & Interior Design courses.
Located in our RIBA award winning Boardman House building NUA’s technical resources for Architecture and Interior Design include facilities for large format printing, model making, CAD, laser cutting and 3D Printing.
Working closely with the Workshop Manager and other members of the technical team, the post holder will provide technical support to students, academic courses, and other resource users.
You will provide guidance and support for a variety of practical and digital processes and be able to demonstrate expertise in working with a wide range of professional hardware and software to help our students bring their ideas to life.
You will be competent using CAD software such as Sketchup and ArchiCAD and support the creation of students work in 2D and 3D formats. You will also contribute to the creation of instructional materials in the appropriate formats to support these activities.
Applicants should be skilled, committed, and dynamic individuals with proven experience, knowledge, and competency of relevant software and practical processes.
This student facing role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical processes to students. Previous experience of delivering technical support for photography to groups and individuals will be an advantage to meet important elements of the post.
Monday to Thursday 1.00 pm to 9.00 pm and Saturdays 9.00 am to 4.00 pm, during term time
