Evening and Saturday Technician: Printmaking

The University is seeking to appoint a technician to support the inclusive learning environment in our Printmaking Workshops.

Our Printmaking Workshop has a variety resources for students to engage and experiment with modern and traditional techniques to create professional quality prints. The post holder will join a team operating busy workshop environments, taking responsibility for the operation and routine maintenance of professional equipment for printmaking.

Working closely with the Workshop Manager the Evening/Saturday Technician will provide operational support to students, academic courses, and other printmaking resource users.

You will support students with a variety of professional printmaking processes including relief, intaglio, and silkscreen production. You will provide guidance and support to create professional quality from initial concept to final output and contribute to the creation of instructional materials in the appropriate formats to support these activities.

The successful candidate will be a skilled, committed, and dynamic individual with proven experience, knowledge, and competency of printmaking processes. They will have excellent practical skills and knowledge of the safe use and handling of associated materials, machinery, appliances, and tools.

This student facing role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical processes to students. Previous experience of delivering technical support for printmaking to groups and individuals will be an advantage to meet important elements of the post.

Candidates will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or have equivalent experience in a similar role.

Salary: £12,407 to £13,842 per annum
