Evening and Saturday Technician – Digital Media
We are seeking to appoint a technician to support the inclusive learning environment in our Photography studios.
Using a range of professional equipment, you will support photographic shooting in a range of scales and styles from tabletop still life work to full-length model shoots in our daylight and blackout studios. You will also support student postproduction activity in our Digital Darkroom including image editing, file management and hi resolution inkjet printing.
Working closely with the Workshop Manager the Evening/Saturday Technician will provide operational support to students, academic courses, and other photography resource users.
You will support students with a variety of professional photography techniques and support the creation of digital images from initial concept to final output and. You will also contribute to the creation of instructional materials in the appropriate formats to support these activities.
The successful candidate will be a skilled, committed, and dynamic individual with proven experience, knowledge, and competency of digital photography. They will have excellent practical skills in range of professional such as medium format and DSLR cameras, studio lighting, image editing and photographic inkjet printing for display and exhibition.
This student facing role requires excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate technical processes to students. Previous experience of delivering technical support for photography to groups and individuals will be an advantage to meet important elements of the post.
Candidates will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or have equivalent experience in a similar role.
34 hours per week for 30 weeks per year, Monday to Thursday 1.00 pm to 9.00 pm and Saturday 9.00 am to 4.00 pm
