Disability and Student Support Manager

The University is seeking to appoint a Disability and Student Support Manager who will manage and deliver an excellent disability and student support service that recognises the diversity of our student body.

You will be responsible for the effective management and day to day operation of the service, including disability, dyslexia support, student finance, and pastoral and good living, supporting students from all backgrounds to achieve their best potential and showing sensitivity to individual difference.

The disability and student support team deliver welfare service, providing information, advice and guidance to students, including those from underrepresented groups in society and, where appropriate, referring students to the appropriate external agency.  In addition to managing an experienced, dedicated team, you will be responsible for the compliance of the University’s Non-medical Help supports to meet the requirements of external agencies.

The post-holder will have significant practical experience of managing and developing a customer-centred social, health or welfare support service to meet the needs of a diverse range of people including those from underrepresented groups in society, together with dealing with service-users who have complex health and/or welfare issues.

You will have a proven track record of effective team leadership as well as experience of evaluating and monitoring service delivery and identifying and implementing enhancements for effective service improvement to ensure the service meets the needs of diverse groups of students and is culturally competent.

Salary: £33,797 to £40,322 per annum
