Course Leader: BA (Hons) Acting

We are seeking to appoint a Course Leader with the drive, ambition, skills and experience to develop, promote and deliver the new innovative award in acting, aimed at preparing students for screen and other recorded media industries. 

The successful candidate will ideally have a background in acting for film and/or television and experience of directing for screen. You will be excited about the possibilities of delivering an acting degree in a specialist arts institution with the opportunities of collaborating with a number of different media courses.

We are looking for an experienced academic with a strong vision for leading Acting at NUA. As Course Leader in Acting, you will possess a comprehensive knowledge of contemporary Acting and an understanding of the current and future drivers for curriculum content and design. The successful applicant will demonstrate excellent skills in organisation and management. You will bring with you, strong professional relationships and be able to bring your knowledge and experience of professional requirements for undergraduate study on BA (Hons) Acting that are clearly focused on preparing students for professional employment.

The role is a rare opportunity to drive the implementation of new performance related courses at NUA. Initially the post holder will assist in developing course documentation in line with the approved award and credit scheme and working with the Marketing team to promote and recruit the first cohort of students. The University is investing in a new purpose built building, which will house the acting course from 2021.

Salary: £51,034 per annum
