Course Leader – Architecture

We are seeking to appoint an inspirational Course Leader for Architecture who shares the University’s ambition to extend and strengthen its provision in this subject area.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced individual with a future-focused approach. You will be able to demonstrate comprehensive understanding of contemporary industry practice and the requirements of the professional bodies. NUA has excellent links with industry and in particular regional architectural practices, which the successful applicant will continue to nurture through the chairing of the University’s Architecture Advisory Group and liaison with the Norfolk Association of Architects. The role involves leading development of the professional aspects of the curriculum and coordinating interaction with the professional bodies. Candidates will ideally have experience of developing and/or contributing to a Part 2 programme. The role will also involve development of a four-year undergraduate pathway. 

The successful candidate will have substantial experience of teaching Architecture and will contribute to design teaching, leading specific units as necessary. Ability to demonstrate skills in team leadership; course organisation and management; innovative teaching and curriculum enhancement is essential. You will be a trained architect, ideally with experience of working in practice. 

The Course Leader will work collaboratively and under the direction of the Dean of Faculty of Design and Architecture in continuing to develop a distinctive and contemporary curriculum that meets the expectations of professional bodies and industry practitioners. You will be able to demonstrate your commitment to contemporary pedagogical approaches and an ability to work closely with a variety of internal and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be student-focussed and committed to providing excellence in architectural education.

Salary: £50,132 per annum
