The IT Services department at Norwich University of the Arts is responsible for the smooth running and operation of the university’s server infrastructure, telecoms and security as well as maintaining all the Windows and Apple Mac desktops across the campus.

Our Apple Mac estate is growing from strength to strength with around 400 desktop and mobile devices deployed in computer labs, specialist workshop areas and staff offices across our award-winning city centre campus.

An exciting opportunity now exists for an experienced Apple Mac Technician to join our IT Services team and help develop our Apple resources even further.

Working closely with the IT Services Manager and other members of our IT and Professional Services teams, you will be responsible for the day to day administration and maintenance of the Mac estate and the ongoing development including the roll out of new operating systems and applications. Applicants should have a strong technical background and demonstrable knowledge and proven experience of managing and administering Mac OS and iOS devices in a professional setting.

The successful candidate will have several years’ experience, a solid work ethic, and be capable of working as part of a team and on their own initiative to carry out tasks and projects.

You will be capable of solving complex problems logically and methodically and be an excellent communicator as this is a highly visible role within the University and you will be in contact with and supporting a wide range of people.

Your attention to detail will be second to none with the ability to maintain accurate records of all your work and ensuring that our Apple assets are kept fully up-to-date on the institution’s Service Desk system.

Candidates will be educated to degree level in a relevant discipline or have equivalent proven professional experience and certification in a similar role. They will demonstrate an active interest and awareness of industry trends, products and developments, and be able to make cost-effective recommendations for developments and new equipment.

Salary: £28,756 to £33,309 per annum
