Technician : Design Studio – part-time fixed term contract to July 2023

The Design Studio offers specialist resources for design, including technical instruction for creative software, digital print, publications, web and image manipulation. The team also provide first line IT support services for students, so the role also has some responsibility for assisting with printers, scanners and personal device support. 

You will become part of a highly skilled and dedicated team spending most of your time supporting students and staff studying on our successful Communication Design Programme. There will also be opportunities to work with other students across all disciplines to develop their digital and practical skills, to help them realise their creative ambitions.  

We are looking for a design enthusiast who can create and deliver equipment, and software sessions to groups and individuals and bring our students to a level of competency and understanding that enables them to work effectively and independently. You will cover a range of creative design apps with a focus on, InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop along with final design and publication production workflows.  

We are also interested in hearing from applicants who have experience in motion graphics and UX design, who are confident using apps such as After Effects, XD and Figma.

You will be a friendly and approachable person who can empower students, enhance their technical understanding, and be a part in their creative journey. 

Salary: £9,980 to £11,501 per annum (£24,948 to £28,762 pro rata)
