NUA VFX students begin collaboration at Met Film School
Second and third year BA (Hons) VFX students travelled from NUA to London’s Ealing Studios to begin a special collaboration at the acclaimed Met Film School.
VFX students were welcomed by their counterparts from Met Film School’s Producing and Six Month Practical Filmmaking courses at a ‘getting to know you’ event on November 14th hosted by course leaders.
The partnership between NUA and Met Film means new filmmaking students have the opportunity to see their developing concepts and scenes complemented by VFX, whether period drama, thriller or horror.
“It was great to meet such a group of engaged students,” said NUA VFX Course Leader Saint Walker. “We impressed on the film students that VFX can be a useful tool. It should be invisible and designed to help the filmmaker tell their story.
“This project is a great challenge for our students- servicing a director’s vision. “Tonight was a great ice-breaker with students exchanging ideas and contact details.”
The next stage of the collaboration will see NUA third year VFX supervisors liaise with Met Film students and producers as their films move towards production.
