NUA student triumphs at international design competition
The Society of Publication Designers has awarded BA (Hons) Design for Publishing student, Tomas Almeida the ‘B.W. Honeycutt Award’ at the 2016 Student Design Competition. Tomas wins $1,000 and an invite to the Awards Gala in New York and a coveted summer internship at a leading magazine in New York. Tomas came second in the overall competition for his piece on US fashion icon, 94-year-old Iris Apfel. Tomas said of the win, ‘The opportunity to be praised by a distinguished institution such as the Society of Publication Designers and also have the chance to be judged by well established designers is a case of one in a million.’.
