NUA lecturer Will Teather signs to New York gallery
Norwich painter and NUA lecturer Will Teather has signed to one of New York’s leading figurative art galleries, in a US wide deal.
Teather, who teaches on BA (Hons) Fine Art at NUA and has a studio on Muspole Street in Norwich city centre, will be exhibiting his works at RJD Gallery’s main venue in Bridgehampton, New York, and events across America over the coming year.
The gallery has already featured the artist’s work in the Market and Design Fair at Bridgehampton Museum. His paintings include surreal scenes set within Norfolk landmarks and his famous hand-painted spheres, that use a unique perspective to depict 360 panoramas. One of the paintings to be shown at RJD is a large surreal still-life, named Time Capsule, set in Longs Pledge Centre, a pawnbrokers on Magadalen Street, Norwich.
For Teather, who completed a Foundation Year in Art & Design at NUA at the beginning of his career, the signing follows two solo shows in London over the past year as well as his work being the subject of an art trail across Norwich city centre, which included a painted sphere set in the famous Royal Arcade.
He comments, “I’m thrilled to be exhibiting with RJD Gallery. New York is important for any artist working today- it is like Paris was a hundred years ago.”
