Interior Design students embark on London gallery tour
First year students visited a variety of galleries in London for inspiration.
First year BA (Hons) Interior Design students recently embarked on a field trip to London, visiting a number of galleries and furniture showrooms for interior and architectural inspiration.
Places the students visited include the Barbican Centre, Tate Modern, Roca London Gallery, Design Centre and Porada Furniture Company.
“This was an exciting trip for the students,” said Ioannis Christopolous, lecturer on Interior Design. “We were blown away by the immersive gallery spaces, particularly at the Roca London Gallery.”
During their visit, students observed brutalist design at the Barbican Centre, received a guided tour of renowned architect Zaha Hadid’s work at Roca London Gallery, and were able to get in contact with some of the most prestigious luxury brands in design and decoration at the Design Centre in Chelsea Harbour.
The last stop on their London tour was the Porada Furniture Company, who organise a student design competition open internationally.
“Our students are very excited to take part in the design competition” said Ioannis.
