Graduate launches exhibition of work at Norwich Playhouse
BA (Hons) Textile Design graduate Rebecca Hiscock showed pieces of her work pre and post graduation.
BA Textile Design graduate Rebecca Hiscock launched an exhibition at Norwich Playhouse, where she showed textile work created pre and post graduation.
The exhibition ran in the Playhouse bar, Playroom and theatre corridor, and was curated by BA (Hons) Fine Art graduate Rosie Green, who works for Norwich Playhouse as their Exhibition Coordinator and Curator.
“The exhibition contains pieces from my graduate collection, and a new collection that I’ve made since graduating,” said Rebecca.
“I’m showing everything to do with my practice, starting right at the beginning of the design process – so showing things like paintings, weaving diagrams, screen prints and more.”
Rebecca’s work is heavily inspired by brutalist architecture and modernism art movements, in particular the bauhaus – these themes are carried through her work.
“The exhibition leads up to my final pieces, so things like my final weaves, weave wrappings, dye books, concrete samples that have influenced me throughout my design story” said Rebecca “it’s really a look into my whole design process.”
