Design for Publishing student wins Richardson Brown Travel Prize
BA (Hons) Design for Publishing student Rowan Collins wins the Richardson Brown Travel Prize 2017/18.
The Richardson Brown Travel Prize is offered in memory of Frances Brown, a former student who left a legacy to NUA in her Will to award a travel bursary worth £500. The prize is offered to a current second year student who has shown excellence in their studies to allow them the opportunity to travel abroad to enhance their creative practice. This year’s prize is awarded to BA (Hons) Design for Publishing student Rowan Collins, who will use it to help fund a summer internship at Oak Publishing in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The judging panel consisted of Xenia Levantis (SU President), Prof. Hilary Carlisle (Dean of Design & Architecture) and Prof. Richard Sawdon-Smith (Dean of Arts & Media). Professor Hilary Carlisle commented she felt Rowan made ‘a compelling and thorough application which clearly demonstrated the potential to help her studies and future career through both industry engagement and social relevance’.
