Professor Larra Anderson
Prior to joining NUA in December 2020, Professor Anderson worked as Dean of Screen at London College of Communication at the University of the Arts London, where she established and led the Screen School. Before her role at UAL, she was the Director of the Northern Film School at Leeds Beckett University.
Professor Anderson’s film career has seen her produce, direct, and write material for film and television as well as her primary work as a cinematographer. Her award-winning films have screened in cinemas internationally, and at more than 65 festivals worldwide with screenings at Sundance, Sheffield DocFest, Venice, SXSW and BFI.
Professor Anderson holds an MFA in Film Production from the University of Southern California’s School of Cinema-Television (now known as USC School of Cinematic Arts). She is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce and a member of the European Film Academy.
