Emily Mitchell

Emily Mitchell

My work balances elements of chance and control and uses aspects of staging, theatre and ambiguity to construct narrative relationships between people and objects. Playfulness, improvisation, observed drawing and the nuances of language are at the core of my work. I enjoy developing ideas through collaboration with writers and artists. After my first degree in Illustration and Printmaking, I went on to do an MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design. My work is held in collections in the UK and in the USA. I am currently making and developing work for a project exploring the history of witches in Norfolk. Emily’s work is available to view on her website.
