6 things to do in Norwich this December
Our curious and creative city is alive with events & activities to get stuck into over December. In this blog we’ve put together a few Norwich events that won’t break the Christmas budget.
A Circus Christmas Carol, Saturday 14 December
Norwich Playhouse, tickets from £9.50 for students
All of the above! Our neighbours, Norwich Playhouse host this thrilling circus production based on Charles Dickens’ infamous ‘Christmas Carol’. Sip a mulled cider in the Playhouse Bar and then head into the theatre to experience a Christmas play like never before.
The Playhouse have made this event a ‘relaxed performance’, suitable for attendees who may prefer a more relaxed performance environment, including those with autism or learning disabilities.
Fresh Artisan Market, 13 – 15 December
St Marys Works, free entry
This curated craft and food market showcases some of the best independent makers and creators Norwich has.
From jewellery, prints, clothing, vegan skincare, and more, you’ll be able to support local artists and at the same time get your Christmas presents sorted. There’s a bar selling local brews, as well as pastries and cakes to sample!
Santa’s Grotto for Dogs, Saturday 14 December
The Forum, donations
Bring your doggo down to The Forum Norwich to meet Father Christmas, all in the name of charity. Pick up free dog food samples and get Fido’s picture taken with Santa.
House of Daze Kiki Christmas Ball, Saturday 21 December

Legendary Norwich drag act, The House of Daze invite you to join them on the runway at their Christmas Ball!
Strut your stuff on the catwalk and you could win a House of Daze trophy. Additionally, there will also be the infamous House of Daze performance followed by a Christmas disco.
Time and Place: LGBT+ Identities in the Norwich Castle Collections, Saturday 7 December
Norwich Castle Museum & Art Gallery, tickets from £7.50
The Castle Museum & Art Gallery discover queer culture within their collections in this tour. This new tour looks at LGBT+ stories in their collection, exploring all corners of the museum.
Vegan Christmas Market – Saturday 7 December
Open Norwich, free entry
It’s no wonder with Norwich named the most vegan friendly city in the UK that just next door to campus, there’s the annual Vegan Christmas Market.
Stock up on your favourite vegan items but also explore toiletries, clothing, candles, chocolate, cheese and more! There’s also a café area for you to buy food and you could also indulge with a massage too.
